Updates and Foreign Deals!
For those of you who follow my writing partner, Amie Kaufman, this will come as no surprise, as she’s already announced it on her blog. (For those of you who don’t, march right over there and follow her!) Anyway, we have some rockin’ news to share: WRECKED has sold as three-book deals in Poland (Otwarte) and Brazil (Novo Conceito)! And, because they are just that awesome, Novo Conceito has ALSO bought the SKYLARK trilogy.
Amie and I are in the middle of revisions for WRECKED, which is both a trying and a rewarding process. Trying mostly because I’ve had a sinus infection for the past few weeks and didn’t even know about it, and poor Amie keeps waking up to emails from me saying “….I will do more tomorrow, I promise…” But the infection is on its way out now that I’ve gotten antibiotics, and with it will go (hopefully) the headaches, and I’ll actually start pulling my weight around here! That is the nice thing about working with a partner, though. Everyone has off-days, and having someone else to take up the slack—and being able to pick things up when they’re feeling off—is pretty awesome.
As for solo project updates, I’ve handed in the SKYLARK manuscript for the last time. It’s a strange feeling, giving this project that I’ve worked on for almost two years now over to someone else, knowing I’ll never touch it again as it is now. In a few months I’ll be holding it in my hands as a real book, all grown up. Getting to see jacket designs, cover designs, the interior design—it all seems like a dream.
(And yes, I’m teasing you all horribly. You don’t get to see my cover yet, you have to wait. But I will say this: biased though I am, it’s a cover well worth waiting for. Watch this space, etc.)
